Garmin gpi files download

i am dowloading it from my computer. i finally got to talk to the garmin software engineer and he said that I should be able to dowload the .gpi files through the poi downloader software. i tried 3 files and none of them downloaded. he then told me just to copy and paste to the units garmin.poi folder which i did and it worked. then i read somewhere that the downloader will only download .gpx

I downloaded the last version update and installed in a XP system and also in a GarminMobilePC folder and copy the GPI files into it. For your info, after downloading your Garmin .csv files, needed to create a folder with same name but without the file extension, and move file into it, so that the garmin POI loader can ‘see’ it and load it successfully under Custom POI heading as a .gpi file.
